Appointments System

You can see any of the doctors or nurses at the practice by making an appointment, either in person, by telephone or online. We operate a computerised appointments system and work on the basis of 10 minutes for each consultation, so if your problem is likely to take longer please let the reception staff know so that sufficient time can be allowed. Reception staff will be asking you for some information to enable them to direct you to the correct health care professional.

If you need to see a doctor urgently, you will be seen the same day but not necessarily by the doctor of your choice and this may mean your consultation is restricted to dealing with only the urgent problem.

Video Consultations

We are now offering video consultations at the doctors discretion, initially we were using Qdoctor but found it to be slightly tricky to navigate. We are now using accuRx, to join a video consultation all you need to do it click a link which will be sent via text message. To find out more information on how to do this please click here.

FREE NHS App

If you’re a patient at our practice you can now use the new NHS APP

A simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet.

You can use the NHS App to check your symptoms and get instant advice, book appointments, order repeat prescriptions, view your GP medical record and more.

If you already use SystmOnline you can continue to use it. You can use the NHS App as well.

eConsultation

We are now offering eConsultations. You can use eConsult to request GP advice without the need for an appointment. You can ask us about your health symptoms, conditions or possible treatments. You can even request things like sick notes and fill in our long term condition reviews such as asthma and hypertension. You will need to complete a simple form about your problem or request, your GP will then decide on the best treatment for you, the practice will then respond with advice, a prescription or an appointment.

Interpreter

If you require an interpreter to attend with you when you see your Doctor please notify the receptionist and she will arrange this for you.

Chaperone Policy

We will always respect your privacy, dignity and your religious and cultural beliefs particularly when intimate examinations are advisable – these will only be carried out with your express agreement and you will be offered a chaperone to attend the examination if you so wish.

You may also request a chaperone when making the appointment or on arrival at the surgery (please let the receptionist know) or at any time during the consultation.

Home Visits

The doctor will visit you at home if you are unfit to travel to the surgery. Please try to call before 10:00 am so that the doctor can plan his rounds. It would be greatly appreciated if you could come to the surgery whenever possible as the doctor can see three or four patients at the surgery in the same time it takes to make one home visit.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment by phone, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

Extended Access

Extended Access appointments are for routine appointments only and not for urgent care.

For urgent matters at evenings and weekends, patients will continue to access the GP Out of Hours Services at Lincoln County Hospital via NHS 111 or the Minor Injuries Unit at John Coupland Hospital.

This service is provided by clinicians including GPs, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants. Please note, the extended access is not a walk-in service – you still need to make a pre- booked appointment.

Appointments can be made by contacting reception on 01522 263444

Extended hours appointments are available Monday-Friday, 6:30-8pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 9am-12pm.

The service is being delivered by a collaboration of GP practices in the area. If a patient wishes to attend an enhanced hours appointment, they will need to travel to another local GP practice or a central GP practice hub and will not see their own GP.
