Doctors

  • DR SURESH NAGAPPA

    Dr Nagappa completed his basic medical training in India and trained to be a GP in South Yorkshire. Apart from being a generalist he has a deep interest in dermatology. Dr Nagappa worked for over two years as a specialist doctor at the Rotherham General Hospital and has a diploma in dermatology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow to his credit. He also has a diploma in family planning. Outside of work, he loves travel, tennis and music.

  • DR UCHENNA ANUGWA

    Dr Uchenna Anugwa has joined the team at Trent Valley Surgery as a Salaried GP. He started with us on Monday 8th February and will be working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, both at Saxilby and Torksey. He will be performing telephone, video and face to face consultations in the same way as Dr Nagappa and the Advanced Nurse Practitioners.

  • DR AHMED ELSEIDY

    Dr Ahmed Elseidy completed his basic medical training in Egypt and has more than 8 years of experience in General Practice in different countries. Some of them back in Egypt, then in Maldives Islands. He joined the UK General Practice Programme in 2019, and has been a Salaried GP in Trent Valley Surgery since August 2022. Dr Elseidy will be working on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Nurse Practitioners

Advanced Nurse Practitioners are highly experienced and educated nurses who are able to assess, investigate, diagnose, and prescribe. They can make referrals to hospital doctors or other health care professionals, and admit patients into hospital when necessary. Nurse practitioners are trained specialist nurses. They have undertaken additional medical education in order to provide advanced nursing care and to prescribe medication. They can make referrals to hospital doctors or other health care professionals, and admit patients into hospital when necessary.

Nurses

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

    Leanne is our Practice Nurse. She can deal with the majority of chronic disease management and is a great asset to the team.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

The practice manager, IT manager and team of receptionists are always available to help with appointments, enquiries, general advice and to listen to your ideas and comments.

Administration

The administration team deals with the correspondence coming into the practice and are responsible for coding patient records as well as carrying out the scanning of information and dealing with registration requests and queries.

Reception

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses.

Secretaries

The secretaries provide secretarial support to the Practice and also arrange hospital referrals, chase-up appointments and liaise between hospital consultants and your doctors.
